Welcome. Thanks for looking us up at Troop 53. Here we have fun while pursuing the Boy Scout mission to "prepare young people...by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law." Chartered to the Rotary Club of Kennett Square, we have a long tradition, more than sixty years, of camping, outdoor adventure and service to Kennett Square and its surrounding communities.
We meet most Wednesday evenings at 7 PM throughout the year at our "scout house" located across the street from the Italian American Citizens League building. Ours is a twelve-month program with camping or another activity each month - the centerpiece of which is our week-long summer resident camp, usually at the Horseshoe Scout Reservation, just across the state line in Maryland.
Boys eleven to eighteen years of age and their families are welcome to visit us at the scout house during meetings. Many of our members attend the Kennett Middle and High Schools, but we have scouts from schools like Salesianum, West Chester, and others. Come and see if you know one of them. You may also fill out our contact form to request more information.
